Circuit/System Testing

Verify DTC P0403, P0405, P0406, P0489, P0490, P1407, P140D, P140E or P140F is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
  Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- If none of the DTCs are set
Verify the conditions listed below do not exist:
- Restrictions in the EGR cooler, EGR cooler bypass valve and passages
- Binding, damaged or restricted EGR valve.
- Binding, damaged or restricted intake air flow valve.
- Induction/charge air cooler system leaks. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis (Induction System Air Leak Test) , Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis (Induction System Smoke Test) and Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis - Induction System Smoke Test.
- Induction/charge air cooler system restrictions.
- Exhaust system/turbo charger leaks.
- Exhaust system/turbo charger restrictions.
- Wet or restricted air filter.
- Loose or improperly connected hoses.
- Damaged or missing components.
- If a condition exists
  Repair or replace the component as necessary.
- If none of the conditions exist
Test or replace the Q14 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve.
