Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that the (IPC) Instrument Panel Cluster warning indicators are illuminated.
- If IPC warning indicators do not illuminate
- Test the IPC Cluster 15 A fuse for an open.
- If the fuse is open, repair the short to ground or high resistance in the circuit.
- If the fuse is not open
- Test for battery voltage between the IPC Cluster 15 A fuse and ground.
- If battery voltage is not present, repair the open in the circuit.
- If battery voltage is present, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.
- If IPC warning indicators illuminate
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the ECM harness connector at the K20 Engine Control Module
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that the Wait to Start indicator does not illuminate.
- If Wait to Start indicator illuminates
- Test for infinite resistance between the wait to start indicator lamp control circuit ECM connector X2 terminal 58 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground in the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.
- If Wait to Start indicator does not illuminate
- Test for less than 1 V between the wait to start indicator lamp control circuit ECM connector X2 terminal 58 and ground.
- If greater than 1 V
Repair the short to voltage in the circuit.
- If less than 1 V
- If greater than 1 V
- Connect a 3A fused jumper wire between the Wait To Start Indicator Control circuit ECM connector X2 terminal 58 and ground. The Wait to Start indicator should illuminate.
- If Wait to Start indicator does not illuminate
- Test for an open or high resistance in the wait to start indicator lamp control circuit.
- If an open or high resistance is found, repair the open or high resistance in the circuit.
- If an open or high resistance is not found, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.
- If Wait to Start indicator illuminates
- Replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
