Circuit/System Description
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The crankshaft position sensor signal indicates the crankshaft speed and position. The crankshaft position sensor produces an alternating current voltage of different amplitude and frequency. The frequency depends on the velocity of the crankshaft and the alternating current voltage output depends on the crankshaft position and battery voltage. The engine control module (ECM) controls fuel injector timing based on the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor inputs.
