In order to compensate for variations in the fuel system, the Fuel Mass Observer (FMO) function uses feedback from the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) to calculate fuel quantity shift. The fuel quantity correction compensates the air mass and boost setpoint to correct the fuel and air ratio.
