The position of the boost pressure actuator is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM utilizes a boost pressure actuator and a Turbocharger Vane Position Control Solenoid Valve to control the turbocharger vanes. The ECM will vary the boost dependent upon the load requirements of the engine. The ECM uses a pulse width modulation on the control circuit to control the solenoid valve.
