Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify that the fluid level is correct, refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
    • If the fluid level is correct 
  2. Engine idling at operating temperature, observe the scan tool Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter.
  3. Verify the reading should be between -40 to +215°C (-40 to +419°F) and change.
    • If the reading not between -40 to +215°C (-40 to +419°F) and does not change 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing 

    • If the reading between -40 to +215°C (-40 to +419°F) and change 
  4. Operate the vehicle at about 60 km/h (37 MPH) for 10 min.
  5. Verify the scan tool Transmission Fluid Temperature parameter varies by more than 2°C (3.6°F) to verify that the sensor is not stuck.
    • If the Fluid Temperature parameter varies more than 2°C (3.6°F) 
  6. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. It may be helpful to operate the vehicle within the conditions identified from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
  7. Verify the DTC do not set.
    • If the DTC is not set 
  8. All OK.
