Removal Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .

NOTE:

Remove and discard the retaining ring from the rear axle. Replace with NEW only.

Using the J-2619-01 hammer and the J-45019 remover (2), remove the rear axle shaft (1).
Remove the J-2619-01 hammer and the J-45019 remover (2) from the rear axle shaft (1).
