Installation Procedure

- Position the intermediate steering shaft and upper universal joint (2) in the vehicle.
- Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft upper universal joint and the steering column shaft to aid in installation.
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Universal Joint (1) to Steering Column Install
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt (1) Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
- Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint and the steering gear shaft to aid in installation.
- Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint and the intermediate steering shaft to aid in installation.
- Install the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint (3) in the vehicle.
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Middle Bolt (2) Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
- Connect any electrical connectors as necessary.
- Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (Encore)Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (Trax) - Install
- Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Inner Bracket Replacement - Install
- Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Encore) Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Trax) - Install
- Center the steering angle sensor. Steering Angle Sensor Centering
