Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Dust Warning .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .

    NOTE:

    Pull the parking brake rear cable forward to remove the cable from the parking brake cable connector.

  5. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake rear cable connector (1).

  7. Compress the parking brake rear cable locking tabs and remove the parking brake rear cable (1) from the rear brake backing plate.
