Removal Procedure

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) And Rear Intermediate Pipe Fitting

  3. Disconnect the right rear intermediate pipe fitting (1) from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
  4. Plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  6. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the retaining clips (1).
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  9. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the retaining clip (1).

  11. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the front floor retaining clips (1).

  13. Remove the 2 nuts and the underbody cross sill shield (1).
  14. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (AWD) .

  16. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the rear floor retaining clips (1).

  18. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the retaining clips (1).

  20. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the right rail retaining clips (1).

  22. Release the right rear intermediate pipe from the right rear rail retaining clips (1).

  24. Disconnect the right rear intermediate pipe fitting (1) from the rear brake hose fitting.
  25. Cap the brake hose fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  26. Remove the right rear intermediate pipe from the vehicle.
