Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Trax)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the roof rail SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the seat belt tensioner fastener and feed seat belt through center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Replacement .
  3. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Trax) .
  4. Move the driver or passenger seat to the full forward position.

3 Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Assembly

Procedure

  1. Pull the trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retainers.
  2. When replacing the center pillar upper trim panel, feed the seat belt through the panel.
  3. Check the seat belt guide adjustment in both directions:
    • Lower direction: seat belt guide adjuster has to lock into place and can only unlock with the releasing device.
    • Upper direction: continuously adjustable without releasing device.
