- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Unlock the retaining tab (1) on the battery fuse box cover.

- Use a suitable screw driver (2) to unlock the clip (4) through the window (3).
- Open the battery fuse box cover (1).

NOTE:
Pull the battery fuse box housing. DO NOT pull the flap.
- Remove the battery positive cable to starter nut (2).
- Remove the battery positive cable to starter (3) from the battery.
- Remove the battery ground cable nut (1).

- Remove the battery negative cable (2).
- Unclip the 3 generator and starter cable retainers (1) from the body and from the transmission bracket.

- Unclip the 3 generator and starter cable retainers (1).

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the starter ground cable nut (2) and remove the ground cable (1).

- Remove the generator and starter positive cable nut (5) and remove the generator and starter positive cable (6).
NOTE:
Not necessary to remove the cable (3) and the nut (4).
- Remove the generator positive cable nut (1) and the generator positive cable (2).
