Installation Procedure

Install battery (1) and move rearward, in direction of the arrow until it rests against the battery tray.

Install the battery tray protector (1) to battery tray and move forward, in the direction of the arrow until the retainer (2) engages with the battery tray.

Align the rear side of the battery fuse box (1) exactly to the rear side of the battery (2).

Install the battery fuse box and lock the 2 retaining tabs (3).

Install the positive battery cable (2).
Tighten the positive battery cable nut (1) on the battery to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
Install the battery positive cable to starter cable (3).

Install the battery positive cable to starter cable nut (2) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
Install the battery hold down retainer (1) to the battery tray (3).

Install the battery hold down retainer nut (2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Close the battery fuse box cover and lock the retaining tabs (1, 4).

NOTE: Pull the battery fuse box housing, not the flap.
Install the glow plug control module, if equipped. Refer to Glow Plug Control Module Replacement .
Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
