Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  4. Remove the drive belt from crankshaft balancer, drive belt tensioner and air conditioning compressor. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor wiring harness plug (3).

  6. Unclip the air conditioning compressor wiring harness from the 2 retainer clips (1) and (2).
  7. Remove the air conditioning compressor from the air conditioning compressor bracket and hang aside. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (1.4L LUV) .
    NOTE: Do not remove the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose from air conditioning compressor.
  8. Remove the 3 air conditioning compressor bracket bolts (1).

  9. Remove the air conditioning compressor bracket (2).
