Removal Procedure

CAUTION:
Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ±0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
- Remove the exhaust temperature sensor - position 3. Refer to Exhaust Temperature Sensor Replacement - Position 3 .
- Remove the emission reduction fluid injector. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Injector Replacement .
- Remove and DISCARD the 3 oxidation catalytic converter to the three way catalytic converter nuts (2).
- Remove the three way catalytic converter (1) from the oxidation catalytic converter (3).
- Remove and DISCARD the gasket (4).
- Support the three way catalytic converter (3).
NOTE: A second technician is required.
- Remove and DISCARD the 2 three way catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe nuts (1).
- Remove and DISCARD the gasket (2).
- Remove the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger bracket bolts (7).
- Remove and DISCARD the 2 front suspension support bolts (8).
- Remove the three way catalytic converter (3) including the exhaust pipe front hanger insulators (4) and the exhaust pipe front hanger bracket (5).
- Remove the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger insulator nuts (6).
- Remove the exhaust pipe front hanger bracket (5).
- Remove the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger insulators (4).
