Removal Procedure

CAUTION:
Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ± 0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum control solenoid valve heat shield. Refer to Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Splash Shield Replacement .
- Remove the catalytic converter heat shield. Refer to Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ) .
- Loosen the pressure sensor pipe from EGR cooler and intake manifold. Refer to Exhaust Pressure Sensor Pipe Replacement .
- Remove the exhaust pressure pipe hoses from the catalytic converter pipes after loosen the catalytic converter from the turbocharger. Refer to Exhaust Pressure Sensor Pipe Replacement .
- Remove the 3 catalytic converter nuts (4) from three way catalytic converter.
- Remove the 2 catalytic converter brace bracket bolt (5).
- Remove the 2 catalytic converter brace bracket nuts (3).
- Loosen the catalytic converter clamp (1).
- Remove the catalytic converter (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the catalytic converter clamp (1).
- Remove and DISCARD the catalytic converter gasket.
