Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1.8L LUW) and Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1.8L LWE) .
  2. Loosen the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1).

    NOTE: Counterhold against crankshaft balancer bolt.
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1).
  5. Remove the water pump pulley (2) from the water pump (3).
