Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Unclip the engine control module, if necessary.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Place a drain pan below the vehicle.
  5. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill)  and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  6. Loosen the radiator inlet hose clamp (2).

  7. Remove the radiator inlet hose (3) from the radiator (1).
  8. Loosen the radiator inlet hose clamp (4).
  9. Remove the radiator inlet hose (3) from the thermostat housing (5).
