Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement (1.8L LUW and LWE) and Exhaust Manifold Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ) .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill)  and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  3. Remove the 2 engine oil cooler outlet pipe bolts (1).

  4. Remove the engine oil cooler outlet pipe (2) from the engine oil cooler housing and the engine coolant thermostat housing.
  5. Remove the 2 engine oil cooler outlet pipe gaskets.
