Removal Procedure
CAUTION:
Use care when performing this procedure. Use of excessive force may damage the coolant thermostat.
- Open the hood.
- Unclip the engine control module bracket and hang the engine control module aside.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill) and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
- Loosen the engine coolant air bleed hose clamp (3).
NOTE: Place a drain tray underneath.
- Remove the engine coolant air bleed hose (2) from the engine coolant thermostat housing (1) and hang aside.
- Loosen the radiator inlet hose clamp (4).
- Remove the radiator inlet hose (5) and hang aside.
- Remove the 3 engine coolant thermostat housing bolts (2).
- Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing (1).
- Remove and discard the engine coolant thermostat housing sealing (3).
