Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wheel cylinder (1) to backing plate.

  2. Install wheel cylinder mounting bolts (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Connect the brake pipe fitting (1) at the wheel cylinder and tighten to 18 N.m (14 lb ft).
  4. Install the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
  5. Install the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
  6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual Bleeding) and Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure Bleeding) .
  7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
