WARNING: When a rear compartment lid hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
1	Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod - Right Side Procedure Using a suitable pair of pliers, rotate the torque rod upward to release it from the swing bracket and slowly rotate the torque rod downward until the tension is released. Unclip torque rod from hinge retainers. Remove the torque rod from the center support. Remove the torque rod from the vehicle.
2	Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod - Left Side Procedure Using a suitable pair of pliers, rotate the torque rod upward to release it from the swing bracket and slowly rotate the torque rod downward until the tension is released. Unclip torque rod from hinge retainers. Remove the torque rod from the center support. Remove the torque rod from the vehicle.

Procedure
