Circuit/System Description

The body control module (BCM) supplies a 12 V signal to the rear compartment lid unlatch switch through the trunk release switch signal circuit. When the exterior rear compartment lid unlatch switch is pressed, the voltage within the signal circuit is pulled low and the BCM will check the status of the door locks. If the doors are unlocked, the BCM will command the rear compartment lid latch or the liftgate latch to activate.
