Circuit/System Description

The instrument panel dimmer switch controls are located on the headlamp switch assembly and are used to increase and decrease the brightness of the interior backlighting components. When the instrument panel dimmer switch is placed in a desired brightness position, the body control module (BCM) receives a signal from the instrument panel dimmer switch and responds by applying a pulse width modulated voltage to the hazard warning switch light emitting diode (LED) backlighting control circuit illuminating the LED to the desired level of brightness.
