Preliminary Procedure Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection . Remove the starter heat shield. Refer to Starter Shield Replacement (L99, LS3) Starter Shield Replacement (LSA, LS7) .
1	Battery Positive Cable Nut CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 13 N.m (115 lb in)
2	Battery Positive Cable
3	Starter Mounting Bolt (Qty: 2) Tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
4	Starter Procedure Disconnect the engine harness starter connector.
