Installation Procedure

NOTE:

Inspect the O-ring (3) for serviceability. Always install a new O-ring (3) when installing a new camshaft position sensor. Before installing the camshaft position sensor, apply a small amount of clean motor oil to the O-ring. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

Install the camshaft position sensor (2) onto the engine front cover.

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the camshaft position sensor mounting bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Reconnect the engine harness connector (4) to the camshaft position sensor (2).
Install the generator bracket assembly. Refer to Generator Bracket Replacement (LS7, LSA) .
