Hood Air Scoop Replacement (ZL1)

Procedure

1. Heat the underside of the hood under the hood air scoop with a suitable heat gun to loosen the adhesive pad for removal of the hood air extractor.
2. Use a suitable flat-bladed tool to release the retainers at each end of the hood air scoop and loosen the foam adhesive pad, then slowly pull the hood air extractor up and away from the hood.

Procedure

1. Using a 50/50 solution by volume of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water, clean the area where the hood air extractor will be installed.
2. Dry the area with a clean cotton lint-free towel.
3. The part and surface should be 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain 21°C (70°F) for one hour after assembly to allow adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength.
4. Peel the adhesive tape backing from the hood air extractor.
5. Position the hood air scoop to the holes in the hood to align the hood air extractor.
6. Using palm pressure and a dry towel, wet out the adhesive pad and seat the push-in retainers.
7. Install the nuts.
