Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. If the left side spark plugs are being serviced, remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (L99, LS3) Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LSA) .
  3. Remove the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement (Except LS7) .

  4. Loosen each spark plug 1 or 2 turns.
  5. Use a brush, or use compressed air in order to remove any dirt from the spark plugs.
  6. Remove the spark plugs one at a time and place each plug in a tray marked with the corresponding cylinder numbers.
