Component Testing

Coolant Pump Relay
- Ignition Off, disconnect the KR18 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Relay.
- Test for 90-125 Ω between terminals 85 and 86.
- If less than 90 Ω or greater than 125 Ω
Replace the KR18 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Relay.
- If between 90-125 Ω
- If less than 90 Ω or greater than 125 Ω
- Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below:
- 30 and 86
- 30 and 87
- 30 and 85
- 85 and 87
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the KR18 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Relay.
- If infinite resistance
- Install a 10 A fused jumper wire between relay terminal 85 and 12 V. Install a jumper wire between relay terminal 86 and ground.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between terminals 30 and 87.
- If 2 Ω or greater
Replace the KR18 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Relay.
- If less than 2 Ω
- If 2 Ω or greater
- All OK
Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Dynamic Test
- Ignition On.
- Install a jumper wire between the B+ terminal 5 and the logic circuit terminal 1. Install a 10 A fused jumper wire between the B+ circuit terminal 5 and 12 V. Install a jumper wire between the ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- Verify the M10 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump activates.
- If the pump does not activate
Replace the M10 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump.
- If the pump activates
- If the pump does not activate
- All OK
