- The engine is running, and a cold start has been detected.
- Vehicle speed is less than 2 km/h (1 MPH).
- The engine is at idle with no input from the accelerator pedal.
- The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is between -17-43°C (63-109°F).
- The calculated 3-way catalyst temperature is colder than 300°C (572°F).
- The barometric (BARO) pressure is greater than 75 kPa.
- The engine control module (ECM) will exit the diagnostic if the calculated 3-way catalyst temperature is greater than 800°C (1472°F) when the engine run time is greater than 1 s.
- The ECM will exit the diagnostic if the engine run time is greater than a calibrated value.
- This DTC runs for 10 s within the first 2 min of start-up. This diagnostic runs once per trip when a cold start has been determined.
