Supercharger Disassemble

    Fig 1: MAP Sensor, Seal & Bolt

  1. Remove the air outlet pressure sensor bolt (1).
  2. Remove the sensor (2).
  3. Inspect the sensor seal (3) for damage, do not remove the seal from the sensor. If the seal is damaged, replace the sensor. The seal is serviced with the sensor.

  5. Remove the inlet air temperature sensor (1).

  7. Remove the barometric pressure (BARO) sensor bolt (1).
  8. Remove the BARO sensor (2).
  9. Inspect the BARO sensor seal (3) for damage, do not remove the seal from the sensor. If the seal is damaged, do not remove the seal from the sensor. If the seal is damaged replace the sensor. The seal is serviced with the sensor.

  11. Remove the bolts (1), plate (2), and seal (3), from the cooler. Discard the seals.

  13. Remove the charge air cooler (2), seals (1), and bolts (3).

  15. Remove and discard the insulator seal (1).

  17. Remove and DISCARD the charge air bypass valve tube (1).
  18. Remove and DISCARD the charge air bypass valve vacuum tube (2).

  20. Remove the inlet air pressure sensor bolt (1).
  21. Remove the inlet air pressure sensor (2).
  22. Inspect the sensor seal (3) for damage, do not remove the seal from the sensor. If the seal is damaged, replace the sensor. The seal is serviced with the sensor.

  24. Loosen the evaporative emissions (EVAP) bolt.
  25. Remove the EVAP valve (1).
  26. Inspect the sensor seal (2) for damage, do not remove the seal from the sensor. If the seal is damaged, replace the sensor. The seal is serviced with the sensor.

  28. Remove and DISCARD the bypass actuator tube (1).
  29. Remove the charge air bypass valve bolt (2).
  30. Remove the charge air bypass valve (3).
  31. Remove the bypass actuator bolts (4).
  32. Rotate the actuator upward and remove the rod from the lever of the supercharger.
  33. Remove the bypass actuator (5).

  35. Remove and DISCARD the short supercharger front cover assembly bolts (1) (Qty: 4).
  36. Remove and DISCARD the long supercharger front cover assembly bolts (2) (Qty: 2).
  37. NOTE:

    The supercharger front cover assembly is sealed to the supercharger assembly with room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use a suitable pry tool at pry points indicated by arrows to aid in the removal of the supercharger front cover assembly.

  38. Remove the supercharger front cover assembly (3).

  40. Remove and DISCARD the dowels (2) (Qty: 2) from the supercharger assembly (1).

    NOTE:
    • Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the passages of the supercharger. Cover the intake ports as required.
    • With the manifold positioned upside down on a bench, the lower assembly may be positioned onto the intercooler cover dowel pins. Use care not to reposition or bend the dowel pins.
  42. Drill out the gasket rivets (1) using a drill bit with an outside diameter (OD) no larger than 3.2 mm (0.125 in).
  43. Remove the gaskets (2).
