Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation (LSA)

  1. Install the seals (1) onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug. Refer to Cylinder Head Disassemble .

  3. Install the pipes (1 and 2) and bolts (3) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
  4. As required, install either a NEW plug (4), or the earlier design coolant air bleed covers, bolts and gaskets. Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble . If required, tighten the cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
