Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation (LS3, L99, or LS7)

NOTE:

Position the gasket O-ring seal (308) onto the nipple portion of the pipe.

Install the seals onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe and covers.

Install the pipe (307) and gaskets (308).

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the bolts (309) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

NOTE:

Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug. Refer to Cylinder Head Disassemble .

As required, install either a new plug or the earlier design coolant air bleed covers (313) and gaskets (308). Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble .
Install the bolts (312).
Tighten the cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
