Clutch Pilot Bearing Removal

Special Tools

    NOTE:

    J 23907-1  slide hammer was part of the J 23907  slide hammer with bearing adapter set. The adapter is still available as J 23907  adapter.

  1. Remove the clutch pilot bearing using the J 23907  adapter (1) and J 23907-1  slide hammer (2).
    1. Install the legs of the J 23907  adapter (1) into the clutch pilot bearing.
    2. Rotate the shaft of the tool until the legs of the tool are snug and contacting the I.D. surface of the bearing.
    3. Install the J 23907-1  slide hammer (2) to the J 23907  adapter (1).
    4. Remove the bearing from the rear of the crankshaft.
    5. Remove the special tools from the bearing.

  3. Discard the bearing.
