Exhaust Muffler with Resonator, Exhaust, and Tail Pipe Replacement (LFX Convertible)

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the underbody side rail cross brace. Refer to Underbody Side Rail Cross Brace Replacement (Convertible) .
  3. Remove the underbody brace. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement (Coupe and Convertible) Underbody Brace Replacement (Convertible Only)  .
1 Exhaust Clamp Bolt (Qty: 4)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
48 N.m (35 lb ft)
2 Exhaust Hanger Rods
3 Muffler Assembly.

Procedure

  1. Remove the exhaust clamps from each catalytic converter
  2. With the aid of an assistant, remove the exhaust hanger rods from the exhaust isolators.
  3. Lubricate the exhaust hanger rods for ease of installation.
NOTE:

Squeeze the rear muffler hanger rods through the isolators using a suitable tool.

NOTE:

The exhaust system is not serviced as an assembly. This procedure is for reference only.
