Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Replacement (LSA)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front .
  2. Drain the charge air cooling system. Refer to Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSA Static) Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSA Vacuum Fill) .
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator and Outlet Duct Replacement (LSA) .
  4. To disconnect the charge air cooling (CAC) pump electrical connector, release the connector positive assurance clip (CPA) then using a needle nose pliers, depress the CPA while pulling down on the body of the connector until released from the CAC pump.
NOTE:

The connector positive assurance clip (CPA) much always be fully engaged to the charge air cooling (CAC) pump while the CAC pump is in operation. If the CPA will not engage, inspect the electrical connector and the CAC pump mating surface.

1 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Clamp (Qty: 2)
Special Tools 
BO-38185  Hose Clamp Pliers
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
2 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pipe to Pump Hose
3 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose
4 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Bracket Fastener (Qty: 3)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
5 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump and Bracket
Procedure 
Install the charge air cooling pump electrical connector until an audible click is heard. Engage the CPA to secure the connection.
