Liftgate Replacement (Except EXT Escalade)

Preliminary Procedures Disconnect the strut rods. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement (Except Escalade EXT) . Remove the rear door upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement . Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except EXT Escalade) . Disconnect the electrical connectors.
1	Liftgate Body Side Hinge Nut (Qty: 4) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
2	Liftgate Assembly TIP: Calibrate the power liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Calibration .

Disconnect the strut rods. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement (Except Escalade EXT) .
Remove the rear door upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except EXT Escalade) .
Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Liftgate Body Side Hinge Nut (Qty: 4)

CAUTION:

Tighten
25 N.m (18 lb ft)

Liftgate Assembly
TIP: Calibrate the power liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Calibration .
