Hood Ornament Replacement (Buick)

Preliminary Procedures

1. Apply two layers of masking tape at each end of the hood ornament.
2. Using a standard clip-type removal tool, pry the hood ornament at each end in order to remove.
3. Using the same tool, release the four clips from each hole in the hood.

Procedure

1. Remove the masking tape previously applied.
2. Clean the exterior surface of the hood where the ornament is to be installed.
3. Align the ornament alignment pin along with the four retainer clips to the hood outer panel.
4. Apply equal downward pressure to the ornament in order to engage the four retainer clips.
5. Clean the exterior area around the hood ornament.
