Component Testing

Static Test

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the A7 Fuel Pump and Level Sensor Assembly.
2. Test for 40-250 Ω between the signal terminal 4 and the low reference terminal 3.
   • If not within the specified range 

     Replace the B46 Fuel Level Sensor.

   • If within the specified range 
3. All OK.

Dynamic Test

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the G12 Fuel Pump.
2. Remove the B46 Fuel Level Sensor from the fuel tank.
3. Sweep the Fuel Level Sensor through the entire range while monitoring the resistance between the signal terminal 4 and the low reference terminal 3. The resistance should vary between less than 45 Ω and greater than 250 Ω without any spikes or dropouts.
   • If not within the specified range or is erratic 

     Replace the B46 Fuel Level Sensor.

   • If within the specified range 
4. All OK.
