Installation Procedure

  1. Position the shift lever and selector lever cable bracket (2) on the transmission.
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the two shift lever and selector lever cable bracket fasteners (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  3. Connect the shift lever and selector lever cable ends (1) to the transmission shift levers.
  4. Install the shift lever and selector lever cable (3), to the shift lever and selector lever cable bracket.
  5. Adjust the shift lever and selector lever cables. Refer to Manual Transmission Shift Lever Cable Adjustment .
  6. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  7. Verify correct operation of the transmission control assembly.
