Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Engine running, observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
  3. Verify DTC P0325, P0327, P0328 and P06B6 is not set.
    • If only DTC P06B6 is set  

      Verify that no external knock sensor circuit issues exist, then; replace the K20 Engine Control Module.

    • If none of the DTCs is set 
  4. Vehicle OFF, inspect for the following:
    • The affected B68 Knock Sensor for physical damage. A sensor that is dropped or damaged may cause a DTC to set
    • The sensor for proper installation. A sensor that is loose or not at the correct torque may cause a DTC to set. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .
    • The sensor mounting surface for burrs, casting flash, and foreign material
    • The sensor must be clear of hoses, brackets, and engine electrical wiring
    • Loose brackets
    • Loose or broken accessory drive belts, brackets, components
    • An engine mechanical condition-Refer to Symptoms - Engine Mechanical
    • If a condition is found 

      Repair or replace component as appropriate.

    • If no condition is found 
  5. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the freeze frame/failure Records data.
    • If any of the DTCs set 

      Test or replace the B68 Knock Sensor.

    • If none of the DTCs set 
  6. All OK
