Camshaft Cover Replacement

Camshaft Cover Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .
  2. Remove the PCV hose. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
1 Camshaft Cover Fastener (Qty: 3)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:

Apply pipe sealant to the center bolt during reinstallation. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .


Tighten 
8 (71 lb in)
2 Camshaft Cover Fastener (Qty: 8)
Tighten 
8 (71 lb in)
3 Camshaft Cover Gasket
Procedure 
Do not reuse the camshaft gasket. Also use a new gasket when removing or replacing camshaft cover.
4 Camshaft Cover

Procedure

  1. Remove or reposition the clips as necessary.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector as necessary.
  3. Transfer components as necessary.
