Parking Brake Cable Guide Replacement (J90, J95, J96 Pickup)

Removal Procedure

1. Release the park brake.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.





3. Remove the front parking brake cable guide bolt (1).





4. Remove the front parking brake cable guide (1) from the spring perch.

5. Remove the front parking brake cable guide from the parking brake cables.





6. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide bolt (1).





7. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide (1) from the parking brake cable.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear parking brake cable guide (1) to the parking brake cable.

2. Position the parking brake cable guide to the frame.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the rear parking brake cable guide bolt (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).





4. Install the front parking brake cable guide to the parking brake cables.

5. Install the front parking brake cable guide (1) to the spring perch.





6. Install the front parking brake cable guide bolt (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
