Parking Brake Cable Guide Replacement (J90, J95, J96 Chassis Cab)

Removal Procedure

1. Release the park brake.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.





3. Remove the intermediate parking brake cable guide bolt (1).





4. Remove the intermediate parking brake cable guide (1) from the frame.

5. Remove the intermediate parking brake cable guide from the parking brake cable.





6. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide bolt (1).





7. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide (1) from the parking brake cable.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear parking brake cable guide (1) to the right parking brake cable.

2. Position the parking brake cable guide to the frame.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the rear parking brake cable guide bolt (1) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).





4. Install the intermediate parking brake cable guide from the parking brake cable.

5. Install the intermediate parking brake cable guide (1) to the frame.





6. Install the intermediate parking brake cable guide bolt (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
