Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Replacement

J 35468 - Cover Aligner and Seal Installer

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement Service and Repair.

2. Inspect the engine front cover seal bore area for damage.

3. Use a suitable seal puller, remove the crankshaft front oil seal.

Installation Procedure





1. Lubricate the exterior of the NEW seal with clean engine oil.

2. Using J 35468 - installer and a hammer, install the crankshaft front oil seal.

3. Ensure the crankshaft front oil seal is flush and square to the engine front cover.

4. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement Service and Repair.
