Parking Brake Cable Guide Replacement (JD9, JF3, JF7, JG4)

Removal Procedure

1. Release the park brake.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.





3. Remove the front parking brake cable guide bolt (1).

4. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide bolt (2).





5. Remove the front parking brake cable guide (1) from the frame.

6. Remove the front parking brake cable guide from the parking brake cables.





7. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide (1) from the frame.

8. Remove the rear parking brake cable guide from the parking brake cables.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear parking brake cable guide to the parking brake cables.

2. Install the rear parking brake cable guide (1) to the frame.





3. Install the front parking brake cable guide to the parking brake cables.

4. Install the front parking brake cable guide (1) to the frame.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

5. Install the front parking brake cable guide bolt (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

6. Install the rear parking brake cable guide bolt (2) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
