Circuit/System Description

The compass information is displayed in the driver information center (DIC). As the vehicle travels with or against the earths magnetic pull, the compass heading signal to the DIC changes. As a result of the compass heading signal change, the DIC adjusts and changes the direction of the compass display. When an invalid signal is sent to the DIC or a malfunction exists in the compass heading, the DIC blanks the display and displays '- -' , 'CAL' or C.
