Power Steering Pump Shaft Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (4.3L) Service and RepairPower Steering Pump Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) Service and RepairPower Steering Pump Replacement (LGH) Service and Repair.

Important:
Protect the drive shaft with a shim stock.


2. Cut the seal with a chisel in order to remove it.

Installation Procedure





1. Lubricate the seal with power steering fluid.

2. Install the seal using a deep socket.

3. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (4.3L) Service and RepairPower Steering Pump Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) Service and RepairPower Steering Pump Replacement (LGH) Service and Repair.
