Fuel Injection Pump Cleaning and Inspection

  1. Remove the fuel injection pump adapter bolts.
  2. Remove the fuel injection pump adapter.

  4. Remove the O-ring from the fuel injection pump and discard.
  5. Remove the O-ring from the fuel injection pump adapter and discard.
  6. Clean the fuel injection pump adapter mating surfaces.
  7. Clean the fuel injection pump mating surfaces.
  8. Inspect the fuel injection pump and adapter for damage.
  9. Replace component if any damage is found.
  10. Install a new O-ring onto fuel injection pump.
  11. Install a new O-ring onto fuel injection pump adapter.
  12. Lubricate the O-rings with engine oil.

  14. Install the fuel injection pump adapter to the fuel injection pump.
  15. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  16. Install the fuel injection pump adapter bolts and tighten to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).
