Removal Procedure

NOTE:

Clean the evaporative emission (EVAP) connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting the fittings in order to avoid possible system contamination.

  1. Remove the spare tire and wheel assembly.

  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Disconnect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector from the EVAP canister vent solenoid.

  4. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid quick connect fitting (1) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  5. Disconnect the solenoid vent filter (2) from the fill pocket by removing the push pin (1).

  6. Remove the 2 tie straps (1) that hold the solenoid vent line to the fuel fill pipe hose.

  7. Disengage the retainer (1) securing the EVAP canister vent solenoid to the bracket.
  8. Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid assembly.
